ERIC FOSS
Erik Foss (b. 1973, Elgin, Illinois) is a self-taught American artist raised in the deserts outside Phoenix, Arizona. Influenced by American subcultures, religious iconography, skateboarding, and underground music, his work reflects a raw and deeply personal visual language.
After relocating to New York City in 1996, Foss became embedded in the downtown nightlife, skate scene, and DIY gallery culture—an environment that continues to inform his practice. From 2002 to 2015, he was a founding partner of Lit Lounge / Fuse Gallery, supporting emerging artists while advancing his own work.
Foss has held eight solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows internationally. His work has been featured in two American Academy of Arts & Letters juried exhibitions, with two canvases acquired for its collection—one now housed at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. His next exhibition opens in February 2024 at Plan X Gallery, Milan.
